I am a wildlife ecologist and professor of biology at a large public university in Southern California. At one time, I thought I might pursue nature photography as a career, but my passion for science took me in a different direction. My career has allowed me to live and travel in many locations all over the world and I've been grateful for those opportunities to document my experiences through my photography.
I'm not very good at self promotion and so I've mostly kept my photos to myself, sharing a few favorites with friends and family. Most of my photos that have been published were in the form of donations that I made to various non-profit conservation groups and scientific publications. It's only been recently that I've decided to make my photography more broadly available. I started out with posting on 500px a couple of years ago but decided that I needed my own personal space in the form of this website so that I can share my photos with the world.
